Inline Cartridge Check Valves
• Less than 150µL internal volume
• 1.5 to 3 psi (.10 to .21 bar) cracking pressure
• Can withstand up to 3,000 psi (207 bar) reverse pressure
The Upchurch Scientific® Inline Check Valves limit fluid transfer to one direction. Ideal placement for the CV-3000 would be on the effluent side of the column to prevent post-column derivatization agents from flowing back and poisoning the column if the HPLC mobile phase pump were to shut down. Placement on the post-column reagent line will also prevent mobile phase from contaminating the reagent if the auxiliary pump fails.
The CV-3010 with its CV-3011 Cartridge is an excellent choice between the helium tank and solvent reservoir (above the cap) of your sparging line. Should the gas supply run out during use, the check valve would prevent solvent from backing up the line, possibly cross contaminating solvent reservoirs and damaging the regulator.
The CV-3001 Cartridge incorporates a gold-plated stainless steel spring and a perfluoroelastomer seal, while the CV-3011 contains a standard stainless steel spring and an ethylene propylene seal.
If you replace the supplied flangeless fittings with the Super Flangeless™ fittings, the check valve will hold to 3,000 psi (207 bar). If you prefer Fingertight fittings, use the CV-3001 cartridge with the U-469 steel high-pressure holder.
NOTE: The pressures listed on the "Compare Specs" page are cracking pressures (pressure at which the valve opens for flow in the direction of the arrow).
