Flangeless Nuts & Ferrules

The Upchurch Scientific Flangeless fitting eliminates the need to flange tubing. Just slide one of our Flangeless nuts onto your tubing with one of our Flangeless ferrules (coned end toward the nut) and finger tighten.

This system is fast, convenient, and reliable. These flangeless fittings are compatible with most ports having either the common 1/4-28 flat-bottom or M6 x 1 flat-bottom thread. (Please Note: Most of the fittings with a M6 x 1 threading have a “M6” marking on the fitting, to help distinguish it from similarly colored ผ-28 threaded fittings.)

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1) Flangeless fittings are direct substitutes for Cheminert and Omnifit fittings.

2) For those tight spaces where nuts often interfere with each other, try one of our appropriately-threaded FlushNut fittings™.

Our Flangeless ferrules are excellent for connecting most rigid or semi-rigid tubes, including tubing manufactured from fluoropolymers (FEP, PFA, ETFE, ECTFE, etc.), PEEK, PEEKsil™ or stainless steel. The pressure rating for these ferrules depends on the tubing used.

These tests were performed at room temperature and with water — testing the fitting, not the tubing.

NEW FOR 2009-2010!

We have created new part numbers that combine our Flangeless fittings with the most popular Flangeless ferrules for added convenience AND cost savings! Look for part numbers beginning with the letter “X” – for example, XP-201X.

Lock Nut for Flangeless Fittings

• Use to keep 1/4-28 Flangeless Fittings from loosening

Use the P-312 Lock Nut with 1/4-28 male Flangeless fittings. It is especially useful where vibrations sometimes loosen fittings.

To Use: Screw the lock nut onto the Flangeless nut. When the nut is firmly seated into the port, tighten the lock nut down against the port. This will hold male nut in place and prevent loosening.

NOTE: This product is manufactured from Delrin and is not suitable for use with or around acids, bases or oxidizing agents. (We have found even the fumes from these solvents can weaken products made from Delrin).

(Another option for preventing loosening is to use Upchurch Scientific Super Flangeless™ fittings.)

Flangeless Fitting for 10-32 Flat-Bottom Port

• For 1/16" OD tubing
• Easy to use
• For 10-32 flat-bottom ports

While most flat-bottom ports feature a ผ-28 or M6 x 1 flat-bottom thread, increasingly a 10-32 flat-bottom port can be found. To connect 1/16" OD tubing to a port with this geometry using a standard Flangeless fitting connection, try the Upchurch Scientific LT-111 combined with the P-240 ferrule (available using the part numbers shown…or at a savings when ordered together using the part number XLT-111). This flangeless fitting is compatible with all ports having a 10-32 flat-bottom thread.

NOTE: If you like a flange-free system, but are focusing more on applications where a vacuum may be present – such as with aspiration and dispensing processes – Upchurch Scientific VacuTight™ fittings may be of interest.

Also, if you are looking for fittings to fit a larger, 5/16-24 threaded port, follow this link to our Large Bore™ fittings.
