Column

The Column is the "heart" of the system because its the component with the greatest influence over what type of and how good the resolution is between sample components. As with the guard columns, due to the wide array of analysis needs, we cannot make a specific recommendation on which type of column would be best for your application. In general, however, it can be noted that most reversed-phase chromatography is performed using a column that is 15 or 25 cm long, and is typically packed with a C18 stationary phase, bonded onto 5 micron silica or smaller, and is end-capped and base-deactivated. Upchurch Scientific offers columns that meet these specifications. Also, our columns have the added benefit of a completely biocompatible flow path, as the frits and the column tube are manufactured from 100% PEEK™ polymer. For a complete listing of our columns, please visit the columns section of our site.
